Care Guide

Azumorri carries formal evening gowns, resort kaftans, and structured outerwear, many featuring dimensional embellishments such as beading, sequins, crystal accents, 3D floral appliques, and embroidery. Because care requirements vary from piece to piece, always follow the sewn-in care label on the garment itself and any instructions listed on that product's page. The guidance below covers general handling practices that apply across our collections and helps you protect the details that make each piece distinctive.

Check the Garment's Own Instructions First

Before applying any cleaning method, locate the care label sewn inside the garment. If a belt, detachable hardware, or a coordinating accessory came packaged separately, check its label as well. When a product page and the physical label disagree, treat the label as authoritative because it reflects the specific construction of your item.

Protecting Embellished Surfaces

Many Azumorri pieces feature hand-placed beading, sequin patterns, crystal embellishments, embroidered overlays, and 3D floral appliques layered over mesh or lining. These elements are vulnerable to friction and pulling.

  • When putting on or removing a gown, hold the inner lining rather than gripping the decorated outer surface.
  • Be mindful of seatbelts, handbag straps, rough chair backs, and jewelry that can catch on sequins, beads, or tulle.
  • If you notice a loose bead, thread, or sequin, do not tug it free. Secure it with a small piece of clear tape to prevent further unraveling and address it before the next wear.

After Wearing: Quick Refresh

Formal pieces are typically worn for a single event. After use:

  1. Hang the garment in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight to allow body moisture and ambient odors to dissipate.
  2. For plain fabric areas without embellishment, gently pass a soft, dry cloth over the surface to lift dust.
  3. Inspect closures, drawstring channels, and elastic cuffs for stress before storing.

Addressing Spills and Stains

If a spill occurs, act quickly but conservatively:

  • Blot the affected area with a clean, white, absorbent cloth. Do not rub, as friction can spread the stain or dislodge nearby embellishments.
  • For a water-based spot on a plain woven area, you may dab lightly with a barely damp cloth. Test on an inconspicuous inner seam first as a cautious step; this does not guarantee the entire area will respond the same way.
  • Do not apply spot-removal products, solvents, or bleach unless the care label explicitly permits them.
  • If the stain touches a beaded, sequined, embroidered, or appliqued zone, stop and photograph the area for reference before deciding your next step.

Storing Your Pieces

Proper storage preserves silhouette and prevents snagging.

  • Structured gowns, column dresses, and longline coats should hang on padded hangers that support the shoulder and bodice shape without creating pressure points.
  • Flowing kaftans and lightweight dresses with a relaxed drape can be folded loosely in a breathable cotton garment bag if hanging space is limited.
  • Keep stored garments away from moisture, prolonged direct sunlight, and neighboring items with exposed zippers, hooks, or rough textures.
  • Store belts with metal hardware and tassel details separately so they do not press against or snag the fabric surface.

When to Seek Professional Care

For any garment featuring beading, sequins, crystal, dimensional appliques, or an embellished mesh overlay, a qualified formalwear specialist is the safest option for thorough cleaning. Do not attempt to machine-wash, soak, or steam-treat these pieces based on assumptions about the base fabric. If a stain persists after blotting, if embellishments are coming loose, or if you notice color transfer between layers, stop and consult a professional rather than escalating your own treatment.
